Rococo-Classicism served as a transitional style in art that bridged the playful, soft and ornate Rococo with the structured, formal ideals of Neo-classicism. In the mid 18th century, as the exuberance of Rococo’s light colors, asymmetry, and whimsical subjects began to wane, artists sought to bring balance and order back into their works. This hybrid style maintained Rococo's elegance and grace but incorporated classical elements like symmetry, proportion, and a focus on historical or mythological themes.
